Tata Motors has officially launched the long-awaited Punch EV, a significant leap into the compact electric SUV segment. It is made for modern city life but is built to stand firm on Indian roads.
Together, it creates an embodiment of Tata’s Ziptron technology, with a stunning look and a range that catches the eye, packed into a reasonably priced car. With a claimed range of 421 kilometers, it is, in fact, one of the most competent EVs in the segment.
Bold Design with EV Identity
The Tata Punch EV model reflects the rugged yet charming design styling of the ICE brother, injected with a futuristic EV-oriented design. The closed grille, signature tri-arrow design elements, and LED lighting setup present a front façade that is neat yet glaringly aggressive.
The classic aerodynamic alloy wheels, EV badging, and sassy shades pull in all the right visuals, while the commanding road presence the car has, in all its compact appearances will surely stand out amid the urban wilderness.
Spacious and Feature-Loaded Interior
The interior of the Punch EV presents a premium cabin experience with a floating touchscreen infotainment system with an all-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, wireless charging, and ventilated seats in the top variants.
Whereas high seating, good legroom, and cushioned layout of the dashboard ensure comfort and practicality, Tata made sure that the EV version does not compromise with space and utility in the cabin.
The Punch EV: Power and Range with Charging Facilities
Tata’s trusted Ziptron technology powers the Punch EV, which will have two battery options. The long-range will give a 421 km range on a single charge, apt for very easy use as in daily commuting, with some help for highway trekking. Fast charging enables the battery to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in under an hour, making it a very desirable vehicle for city commutes and long trips.
With Price Set to Attract the Masses
Pricing of Punch EV has been done by Tata cleverly, with a starting price of around ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) to about ₹14.49 lakh for the top-end variant. And with various government subsidies on offer and EV incentives, the effective price becomes even sweeter. With its range, plush features, and compact SUV stance, the Tata Punch EV promises to turn the electric car segment upside down.
